Interior Drain Tile Installer for all of the Twin Cities Metro Area

Prior to beginning any waterproofing method or installation, Rite-Way Waterproofing takes necessary protective measures, including:

  • Covering carpeted floors in the immediate work area with tarps
  • Covering all articles in the basement with plastic sheeting
  • Sealing heated air duct openings in the basement to prevent dust from spreading throughout the home
  • If necessary, laying planking over the lawn to prevent damage
  • Transferring all tools, crushed rock, cement, and debris through basement windows, eliminating numerous trips on the stairs and throughout the home
Tubing Method – Drain Tile System (Click to reveal information)

The Rite-Way Basement Waterproofing System or Tubing Method is the only way to dry up a wet basement positively and permanently. The Rite-Way System is built-in and concealed inside the basement, under the floor.

The floor and ground are removed from around the inside perimeter of the basement (or only in the problem areas) to a width and depth of approximately eighteen inches. One inch holes are drilled into the cavities of the blocks in the lower tier. Then:

  1. A garden hose is used to flush any dirt or debris from these drilled holes.
  2. Bleeder tubes, ½ inch in diameter, are inserted so that they extend into the drainage area.
  3. A two to three inch layer of 1 ¼ - 1 ½ inch washed rock is laid in the trench.
  4. A four-inch perforated rigid PVC drain tile is installed on top of the crushed rock. The tile is extended around the perimeter of the basement or only in the problem areas.
  5. The drain tile terminates in a sump pit in which a submersible pump is installed.
  6. The drainage tile and bleeder tubes are covered with wash rock.
  7. A 6-mil plastic sheeting is laid over the washed rock to prevent migration of the cement into the drain system.
  8. The floor is re-cemented and finished to the original floor level.
  9. A ¼ inch vapor gap is installed where the wall and new floor meet to provide a place in which any future condensation can be disposed. The vapor gap will aid in the refinishing of the basement walls in your future remodeling plans.

The Rite-Way System is now an integral part of your basement foundation. It is a silent sentinel, foolproof and ready to relieve ground water pressures as they occur and then dispose of the water. Our basement waterproofing system is not a short cut method; it is a final answer to all your future ground water problems. The system is built-in and out-of-sight, offering no obstruction to further finishing work. The basement area can now be finished into a comfortable, usable living area with no fear of future ground water problems.

The Rite-Way Guarantee

Rite-Way Waterproofing Warranty

At Rite-Way Waterproofing we can provide a list of over 100,000 satisfied customers who have enjoyed a dry basement after having us install the Rite-Way System.

The system we are installing today is virtually the same as we installed thirty years ago. We do not offer any "new or upgraded systems". If our system didn't function properly the first time, our company wouldn't function either.

We operate with only company employees who are fully insured and trained by our long-term personnel. When you opt to work with Rite-Way Waterproofing that's exactly who you will be working with - we do not subcontract any portion of our installation. Our firm has provided expert waterproofing service since 1965 and we are proud to declare that our staff has over 100 years of combined waterproofing experience.

PolyDrain – Drain Tile System (Click to reveal information)

PolyDrain uses air-gap technology to significantly increase water drainage and promote replacement of the foundation floor at the original thickness. PolyDrain maintains a 5/8 air gap between the footer and the replacement slab. PolyDrain is laid directly onto the footer and extends over the drain system. Eliminating gravel on the footer boosts water flow by removing resistance.

By extending PolyDrain up the wall, the weep holes are protected and any moisture from the foundation wall is channeled into the drainage system. PolyDrain is made from Ultra-High
Molecular Weight (UHMW) thermoplastic, and can be bent and folded as needed with no cracking.

  • Increases water flow into the drain system
  • Eliminates sweating of concrete
  • Allows thicker replacement floor
  • Excellent for thin floors and high footers
  • Heavy duty construction grade material

Xypex® Concentrate Waterproofing (Click to reveal information)

Xypex® is a unique chemical treatment for the waterproofing, protection and repair of concrete. When mixed with water, this light grey powder is applied as a cementitious slurry coat to above-grade or below-grade concrete, either as a single coat or as the first of a two-coat application. It is also mixed in Dry-Pac form for sealing strips at construction joints, or for the repairing of cracks, faulty construction joints and honeycombs. Xypex prevents the penetration of water and other liquids from any direction by causing a catalytic reaction that produces a non-soluble crystalline formation within the pores and capillary tracts of concrete and cement-based materials.

  • Resists extreme hydrostatic (fluid-based) pressure
  • Becomes an integral part of the substrate (wall, foundation, block, etc.)
  • Can seal hairline cracks up to 0.4 mm
  • Allows concrete to breathe
  • Highly resistant to aggressive chemicals
  • Non-toxic
  • Does not require a dry surface for application
  • Cannot puncture, tear or come apart at the seams
  • No costly surface priming or leveling prior to application
  • Does not require sealing, lapping or finishing of seams at corners, edges or between membranes
  • Can be applied to the positive or the negative side of a concrete surface
  • Does not require protection during backfilling or during placement of steel, wire mesh or other materials
  • Less costly to apply than most other methods
  • Not subject to deterioration
  • Permanent

Carlisle Liquid Membrane Waterproofing (Click to reveal information)

Carlisle Liquid Membrane Waterproofing (CCW-525) is a liquid-applied, moisture cured, modified polyurethane that cures to form a single flexible waterproof membrane on vertical or horizontal surfaces. CCW-525 is coal and tar free and is usable above or below grade. The membrane has steadfast adhesion to concrete structures preventing lateral water migration. The toughness and resilience of the resulting membrane enables it to bridge cracks and gaps in the concrete foundation.

Typical Uses
CCW-525 is available in two viscosities, H and V, for application to horizontal and vertical surfaces. Typical uses are between the structural slab and wearing course in parking garages, plaza decks, balconies, roof decks, terraces, mechanical equipment rooms, fountains, wet rooms, malls, kitchens and shower stalls. CCW-525 is ideally suited for waterproofing on below grade basement foundation walls, tunnels, planters and other areas where a seamless, elastic waterproofing is required.

Carlisle Sheet Membrane Waterproofing (Click to reveal information)

Carlisle Sheet Membrane (CCW MiraDRI 860/861) are self-adhering sheet membranes consisting of 56 mils (1.4 mm) of rubberized asphalt laminated to 4 mils (0.1 mm) of polyethylene to form a minimum 60 mil (1.5 mm) membrane. CCW MiraDRI 860 membrane is a summer grade material, suitable for installation where the room temperature is 40°F or above. CCW MiraDRI 861 membrane sheets should be used for applications between 25-65°F. The combination of these two excellent waterproofing materials provides a high-performance, extremely durable waterproofing barrier.

Typical Uses
CCW MiraDRI 860/861 membranes are used for vertical and horizontal waterproofing on structural foundation walls and decks. Below-grade foundation walls, tunnels, split slabs, plaza decks and parking decks are all areas where CCW MiraDRI 860/861 may be applied. The membranes may also be used in interior areas such as mechanical rooms, laboratories, kitchens and bathrooms.
